Have your say about the U.S. Farm Bill!The U.S. Farm Bill, scheduled to come
before the U.S. Congress forreauthorization in 2007, is a huge opportunity for
us as a church to impactagriculture, conservation and food policy -- issues that
affect the lives ofpeople in the United States and around the world.This
Lutherlink group is aimed at those with an interest in any of theaspects of the
farm bill debate, including:-Expanding access to healthy foods, increasing food
security, and endinghunger;-Promoting good stewardship of farm and ranch land;
-Building strong rural economies and communities; -Providing opportunities for
new farmers and ranchers;-Developing new markets for farm products and
encouraging investment in newproducts such as renewable energy;-Ensuring that
U.S. farm subsidies don't negatively impact the economies andmarket access of
developing countries; and-Decisions about the distribution of limited farm bill
resources.
